MANDT Training

When someone is in crisis, knowing how to respond and how to deescalate the situation can save lives. On that note, Angel Guardians Inc. (AGI) is thrilled to announce community members will be given the tools to do just that thanks to an award of $77,985 by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.

As the pandemic continues to impact the community, support for individuals with disabilities is needed now more than ever. AT AGI, we believe that in most situations, physical restraint is not a viable solution for individuals in crisis.

Using funds awarded by the board, we will teach community members the Mandt System, a program that provides structure and guidance focused on incident prevention and de-escalation. In doing so we believe we can help foster greater community inclusion for all.

AGI provides support to the community to foster productive and positive interactions with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and the Mandt System is key in educating the community on how to interact with individuals should they be in crisis.

AGI would like to thank County Commissioner Mike Friend for providing the funds through his allotment.

We plan to hold Mandt Student Academy training sessions on the fourth Saturday of each month through October. Check back here and follow our Facebook page for any updates.
